The music on this tape was recorded during 1972 in the Highlands of eastern Papua-New Guinea (PNG) and up the Sepik River on that country's northern coast. Recording equipment was a Sony monaural cassette recorder.Two other tapes of New Guinea music recorded by MacIntosh & Schechner are available on New Wilderness Audio Graphics cassettes #7709A and 7709C.
This cassette is part of the first New Wilderness Audiographics series, 23 cassettes co-produced by Ondina Fiore and Charlie Morrow.
