Cosmosis - Gift Of The Gods / Emanations download free

One of the finest vinyl singles I have ever purchased. It is more a matter of subjective opinion, but Gift Of The Gods is for me the Cosmosis career defineing moment. Slowly amounting for almost two minutes, with a few psychedelic melodies, from the two minute mark onwards, it transforms into total madness. We are tossed right into it with a berserk acid lead, and a melody just as effective right by its side. For the next two minutes, it's all about acid drenched chaos and total mind trickery. The track then breaks down, around 04:30, with a sample going "as the gods have given us, so we return the gift". The music comes back in, and again we get more of the old school acid goa trance wizardry, but different than the initial melodic sequence. What a tune! Quite possibly my all time favorite old school goa trance gem. The flip side has Emanations, an exclusive to this vinyl. While not as divine as the A side, it is good enough to hold its own against any track off Cosmosis debut album, "Cosmology". In fact, makes me sad it was not included on it. More of that melody distorting, space ships of acid frenzy dashing over your head... Awesome! It is yet another full blown melody assault which has no breaks once it properly kicks off some ninety seconds into the track. Check out those melodies from 03:00 forth - it sounds as a war between pissed off Macinotsh and PC machines, only that their short feud gets sealed off by a sudden napalm air strike! In brief, stuff like Slinky Wizards "The wizard EP", Total Eclipse's "Waiting for a new life", Etnica's "The italian EP", Lotus Omega's "The lighthouse" and Technossomy's "The pyramid EP" makes one all proud to be an old school vinyl collector. And rest assured, this one does not fall behind any of the above. And in addition to that, you get a classic slice of the finest Cosmosis sound, while some of it was released only here. Really, get it, and then claim to own something particularly special.
